Composite Tubing Applications.

Composite materials offer significant weight, performance, aesthetic and anti-corrosive benefits over metallic structures so our glass fibre, carbon fibre and aramid fibre tubes can be used to enhance your application at a cost to suit your budget. Examples of popular uses for our composite tubes are;

Defence

Hardy Advanced Composites is part of the NLAW system team which includes SAAB Bofors Technology and Thales Air Defence Systems.

NLAW entered production during 2006 has been operational since 2007. The NLAW combat weapon comprises an anti-tank missile sealed within a disposable launch tube. Although the main targets are MBTs and Light Armoured Fighting Vehicles (LAFVs) other targets such as troops in buildings and nonarmoured vehicles can also be defeated. Hardy Advanced Composites' expertise with carbon fibre tubes led to them being considered for this exciting project. They continue to develop their carbon fibre tube and composite tube technologies.

Aerospace

Hardy Advanced Composites supply composite tubing for aerospace applications including spacers, sleeves and fuel gauging equipment. If you are looking to source composite tubing for an aerospace project then please click here to visit our aerospace section.

Yachting / Marine Components

Carbon fibre tubes can be used as direct replacements for aluminium tubular components on your yachting applications with instant weight savings. We currently supply some of the UK's top boat builders and are "Performance Partners" for Ross Hobson Ocean Racing providing tubing for the team's F28 catamaran (pictured right).
